Our representative can answer your questions about Steamaway
or our services. |
| Q |
How long has Steamaway been
in business |
| A |
Started in 1985,
Steamaway has offered mobile power washing services
with an emphasis on truck washing. |
| Q |
If we
want Steamaway to come on site and wash every week
but we only want every piece of equipment washed every
other week, how do we know Steamaway will not over
wash the fleet? |
| A |
This is a common
problem in our industry. There are many unethical contractors
that will use this “trick” and wash all
the equipment on site each week. This allows them to
over bill for cleaning that is not requested. We prevent
this by tracking what we wash and only washing the
equipment that is due during each visit. We support
what we wash with a spreadsheet reporting system that
you can receive on a monthly basis, if requested. |
| Q |
We have a very mobile fleet. Some
of the trucks are not here on the day we would like
Steamaway to wash. How can we get the remaining trucks
cleaned? |
| A |
We also have
a stationary truck wash at 2300 Cold Spring Rd. where
this truck can be brought at your convenience. |
| Q |
Our fleet does not stop except
for evening and weekends. Can Steamaway still wash
our trucks? |
| A |
Yes, we provide service twenty-four
hours a day seven days a week. |
| Q |
Our current contractor started
out providing quality cleaning but now the service
is less than professional and we aren’t even
sure if they will show up when scheduled anymore. How
do we know Steamaway will not do the same thing? |
| A |
This is a common
problem in the truck washing industry. We quickly recognized
this when we started offering service in 1985. We pride
ourselves on providing quality and reliable service
from day one. Our service will be the same one, five,
or ten years down the road. |
| Q |
Our current vendor sends us multiple
invoices that may be for the past two to eight weeks.
It is very difficult for us to verify that the work
was actually performed. When will Steamaway bill us
for services performed? |
| A |
We always mail
invoices out within two days following the day of service,
usually the following business day. You should receive
your invoice within five business days. If you are
interested we can send you an electronic invoice which
will shorten delivery time. |
| Q |
Does Steamaway offer services other than truck washing? |
| A |
Yes, we offer
many other related mobile power washing service, such
as detailing, building washing, concrete cleaning,
kitchen exhaust cleaning, graffiti removal, de-icing,
etc. |
| Q |
Can Steamaway offer power washing
services that are environmentally compliant? |
| A |
Yes, we work
with the authorities to ensure that our wash procedures
meet environmental requirements. |
| Q |
Does the EPA, State, or City endorse
or approve Steamaway cleaning methods? |
| A |
The answer is
No. You should be caution of any contractor that says
they use or have approved methods or products. No authority
will do such a thing because it exposes them to liability.
The best that we or any other contractor will receive
is recognition that our methods do not currently violate
environmental regulations. |
| Q |
When did the EPA start requiring the
recovery of wash water? |
| A |
Phase I for cities over 250,000 in
population was due November 16, 1992; for cities over
100,000 in population was due October 1, 1993. A lot
of cities received a one-year extension on these dates. |
| Q |
What is the different between the
sanitary sewer and the storm sewer (storm drain)? |
| A |
The sanitary
sewer is used by municipalities to direct municipal
sewage to a water treatment facility. The treatment
facility will treat the water to remove contaminant.
Once the contaminants have been removed the water is
usually returned to the waters of the state. Whereas,
the storm sewer (storm drain) is used to direct storm
water run off directly to creeks, rivers, and or lakes,
also know as waters of the state. |
| Q |
What is off property discharge? |
| A |
Ninety percent
of the time if the water runs past the property line
into any adjacent property then the water has now enter
the waters of the state and falls under environmental
regulation. Believe it or not it is okay to pollute
on site but when it comes time to try and sell the
property it most likely will not pass environmental
testing and will have to receive soil remediation which
may be very costly. |
